Detours

Living in Dubai for more than 20 years makes one immune to detours. During the initial phase of the fast-paced building of this amazing city, it was not surprising when you wake up one morning and that exact same route you used to go to work suddenly disappears and you are forced to use the newly asphalted alternative route leading 'somewhere'.

Today, hubby and I found ourselves in a similar quick detour that, tha@nkfully God masterminded towards the best alternative for B1.

Last night's party and the PT meeting made me realize that B1's personality would benefit best with traditional schooling. I will just add some supportive fun learning games.

The amazing part, there is place in the school i have been meaning to call...and at a perfect price too! Surely, God's mysterious ways. You have no idea of the nightmare we went through in finding schools within our budget and within a reasonable area...and the waiting list. Sigh.

Whew! What a weight off my shoulders! I have been feeling the pressure and it was creating an unnecessary tension.

There is nothing wrong with realizing your limitations and accepting them. I find power in them because you turn to alternative options around.

Haaayyyyy. Embrace life's detours...often times they are there so you wake up from routine and move towards better alternatives.

the 'organized' dream

All my life I dreamed of living 'well organized'...in everything. Since having kids, that felt like close to impossible.

Discovering Pinterest and falling into it's addictive trap did me a whole lot of good. It inspired me to pursue that dream...(and tapped into my many other passions too ;)

My 'OC Tendencies' is what I fondly call it.. I previously deny it but now embrace it as it seems to drive me to my much dreamed life of labelled boxes and everything in their places.
Come to think of it, what perfect timing. As early as now I can instil this into my girls. Bea has been showing signs. :) I love that my kids are quite good at cleaning up specially when they know it will end up in the garbage if they don't put them in the toy boxes/laundry box. hehehe.Well they are girls and they should be neat with their things.

Anyway, the past weeks I have been on a cleaning and organizing spree..."cleaning and sorting everything I touch", I kept catching myself say to people in the house.
Of course, all these are only when I can spare some time and there is someone to look after the kids while I rush to complete a particular section. Today was one of those days. I felt super relieved and fulfilled after clearing and sorting the entry way cabinet. Now it houses all my girls' and my footwear plus labelled Artsand crafts box and folder, homeschooling tools, and christmas decor to name a few. I finally organized our utility cabinet with all toolbox + accessories, packing tapes, stationeries, gift wrapping tools, tea lights and room freshener accessories. Finally, a place where everything is easily accessible and properly placed. Hurray!

I am ecstatic that I am getting closer and closer to my 'organized' dream.

Just a couple of cabinets to go!

What's your favourite today?

What's your favourite today?

This is a question that we ask each other (girls and myself)before we go to bed. We then mention the highlights of our day. I love this little peak into my little girls minds and hearts. It's fascinating how even the simplest things/moments make an impact on them. It's even more heartwarming when it makes it way into our Thank you prayers. Truly grateful for such beautiful and kindhearted daughters.

With that in mind, I would like today's post to be about my favourites today.

1. Bubble wrap magic
There is nothing like free bubblewrap to make anybody of any age happy..hehehe

2. An opportunity knocking
What a ride it was into the magic carpet of dreams. A simple phone call brought hubby's dreams and prayers on the table where while realizing my greater worth and possibilities put me on the hot seat of choosing what is best for our future than staying in my comfort zone. Funny i didn't even bat my eyelash. For our kids. SURE! NO second thoughts.

3. Determination and perseverance I was fascinated by my youngest. He was so determined to get what he wants takes after hubby and me hahaha. He was doing everything possible to get his slamming hands on my laptop's keyboard. He even somehow got me out of the way so hecan get down from the bed and go to the laptop. Very smart cookie!!!

Watch out sisters!!!

:)
With that I say goodnight. hope your day was filled with highlights too!!!

3 years and...3rd kid after

I can't believe it has been 3 years since I blogged and that too before I delivered my second child. Not surprising how hectic my schedules have become since. :)

One thing I totally missed blogging - It's an outlet of my thoughts and a place where I can just be me. I don't have to be the wife, the mom of 3, the daughter, the sister, the friend, the colleague or the stranger...but just me. I can be scared. I can be weak. I can be wrong. I can be just me. :)

Let's start again now. It'll be good to look back and read about my kids at this tender age. They are my life and these are moments I will forever wish I can keep in a box and experience over and over again later on. I'm sure they would also love to look back someday and take a peak what it was like. Shame I missed out on 3 years but those were the most challenging times that chiselled me to the mom I am now. :)

I'll slowly get you back to speed on how things are now...have to start somewhere..some time.

*Eek! I even need to get myself on a laptop and change the description of this blog to "...into three" :) soon enough.

Join me in my journey of motherhood and a new challenge of being a teacher in academic level to my girls. :) whew! As if I don't have enough roles to fill. ADDICT lang! hahaha.
